Did You KNOW?

Have you ever felt nauseous, lightheaded, faint or looked pale after a hard workout? This is why.

For muscles to function at their best during exercise they need a greater blood supply than normal. The heart is responsible for increasing the blood flow as it pumps faster. The arteries (vessels that carry blood from heart to muscle) open to give more blood supply to the muscle. As the arteries open the blood pressure falls.  Normal arteries open and tighten regulating blood pressure to keep it at a normal range. In someone who is over exerting themselves arteries open - but fail to tighten at a normal rate which keeps the blood pressure low. When the arteries don't tighten the blood rushes to the bodies periphery (arms, legs) rushing away from the brain which can cause dizziness.
