Crunchy, Nutty Amazingness!

I love granola. It’s crunchy, nutty and has a hint of sweetness! It is delicious on top of yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce or oatmeal, but I am sometimes skeptical of store bought brands. They always seem to be dense with added sugar, so I decided to make it at home. The nice thing is I know what I put in it, and you can customize it to what you like! Oh, and the recipe is simple!

What you will need:

·        3 cups oats, any kind

·        ¼ cup olive oil, I mixed vegetable and extra virgin but you can really use any you would like!

·        1 teaspoon vanilla extract

·        1/3rd to ½ cup honey

From there you can really add anything you would like and any amount you would like! Other grains, nuts, fruits or seasoning. For this recipe I threw in:

·        Sliced Almonds

·        Chopped Macadamia Nuts

·        Shredded Unsweetened Coconut

·        Cinnamon

·        Three Shakes of Salt

·        Chopped Dried Prunes

Directions:

·        Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or tin foil

·        Mix all the ingredients thoroughly in a bowl

·        Spread out on Baking sheet

·        Bake at 300 for about 40 minutes stirring about every ten minutes. You will know it’s done when it has a toasted look!
